Anya Greany - Well Therapy Therapist

*More About Anya Greany*

As a therapist, my goal is to work with each client to understand their goals for the therapeutic experience. Whether this is to alleviate symptoms of a mental health disorder, adjust to a life transition, explore reoccurring themes, improve self esteem or to simply increase the quality of life, my approach is rooted in a combination of authentic human connection and evidenced based practice. I am truly passionate about the work that I do and am committed to supporting my clients holistically both in and outside of sessions.

*What to Expect From Our Work Together*

Because I believe that each person and journey is different, my approach to therapy is unique to each client. Ultimately, I work to bring a genuine and open presence to my sessions and utilize evidence based approaches specific to each client. This may sometimes be a structured session in which we learn and practice skills to support the treatment plan we create together, or it may be an unstructured session in which we explore themes in a client's life and the thought or behavior patterns that result from such themes. I believe that each client is their own expert, and I find great meaning in empowering clients to utilize their strengths to make lasting change. While working together, we will determine the modalities and treatment structure that works best for the individual.

I strongly believe in the importance of rapport between client and therapist and work to build a trusting relationship with all whom I work with. In my practice, I maintain a curiosity about my client's experience and utilize reflective listening skills to ensure that I am understanding my client's experience to the best of my ability. I am passionately committed to standing alongside my clients as they embark on personal journeys towards understanding the self, healing trauma, reaching goals and improving their quality of life.

*What you Need to Know About Me*

I was born in Flagstaff, Arizona but have lived all across the state of Arizona. I completed my bachelors degree at Northern Arizona University in the Psychological Sciences and went on to complete my Masters of Social Work at Arizona State University. I am an active person that enjoys the outdoors, rock climbing, music and international travel. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
