I believe that healing is a lifelong process, one that comes with both good days and bad. The journey is often challenging, but it is important to recognize that the client deserves all the credit for showing up and being willing to do the hard emotional work. I’m honored to be that supportive champion who reminds my clients to be kind and forgiving to themselves, especially when the tough days seem to outnumber the good. It’s often hard to see the growth we’ve made, but I’m here to help clients recognize their strength and resilience throughout their journey.
I use a blended approach in therapy, drawing from ACT, CBT, DBT, and solution-focused methods. I believe that each client’s unique situation requires a tailored approach, and I strive to meet clients where they are. I focus on psychoeducation and encourage clients to reflect on what resonates with them, all while providing a space for open conversation and self-exploration. I value both fun and reflection. Healing doesn’t have to be all serious – we’ll likely share some laughter along the way. But I also believe in the power of being uncomfortable for the sake of progress. We may cry together, but we’ll also celebrate the small victories. Healing is a process, and I’m here to help you navigate it with all the caring, laughter and unwavering support I can provide!
I was born in DC and raised in Maryland, until moving to Arizona in 2022. My background consists of attending Morehouse College (for a brief period), graduating from UMBC with a BA in psychology, and graduating from University of Maryland School of Social work with a Masters in Social work in 2022. I have practiced in academic settings, as well as clinical settings, including The Johns Hopkins Harriet Lane Clinic. However, my own personal experience with mental and physical illness has shaped my passion for this work. Living with sickle cell anemia, I know firsthand how crucial it is to balance mental health with physical health. The empowering support I received during my own lowest points motivates me to offer that same encouragement to others facing similar challenges.
