*More About Helene Zupanc*

Sawubona! This is a Zulu greeting, literally meaning “I see you.” Sawubona carries the importance of recognizing the worth and dignity of each person. It says, “I see the whole of you—your experiences, your needs, your passions, your pain, your strengths and weaknesses, and your future. You are valuable to me.” This is how I feel about every client. This greeting forms an agreement to affirm, investigate and empower the many facets of each person I work with.

*What to Expect From Our Work Together*

I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy and individualize evidenced based techniques to fit the needs of each person. Together, we will navigate the process of change and I will offer you tools, direction, and a new perspective. You can expect me to be an authentic, compassionate, and nurturing presence throughout your journey. I will use reflective listening, motivational interviewing, and curiosity to understand your experiences, struggles, and strengths. I would be honored to walk beside you whether you are suffering from anxiety, depression, trauma, intrusive or repetitive thoughts, low self-esteem or simply want to improve your quality of life.

The foundation of our work will be rooted in a non-judgmental, therapeutic alliance. I want to make sure you feel seen, heard, and valued each session. My holistic approach includes fostering goal setting and daily therapeutic activities outside of our time together. I believe each client has a well of strength inside of them that is an ember waiting to be stoked and fired up. We will turn that ember into a flame together!

*What you Need to Know About Me*

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Arizona.

My education includes a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Master of Education in Counseling, both from Northern Arizona University.

I enjoy writing and have written a book titled Sticky Note Mantras: The Art of Choosing Your Thoughts. It introduces the use of mantras as a simple, cognitive tool to inspire and redirect thoughts. It encourages you to get off autopilot, steer your thoughts in a different direction and create new habits. I would love it if you checked out my website at stickynotemantras.com to learn more about me and ideas from my book.

On a personal note, I love reading any and all kinds of books, spending time in nature, hanging out with my family and rescue dogs, country music, yoga, and sewing.
